Curle label night at Fuse, Brussels

Anthony Collins 'Reeves' (Curle013) on Sven Väth mix-cd

This summer it was already the 9th year in a row Cocoon was hosting its club night at Amnesia in Ibiza. Every year at the end of the season Sven Väth releases a double-cd on which he presents the tracks that did it for him during all of the summer. That's why i'm really excited that he decided to include a Curle!

The ever smiling Michel de Hey is one of Holland's most popular DJ's since many years. This is his latest mix-cd on his own label Hey! Recordings.

Anthony Collins 'Reeves' (Curle013) on Circoloco compilation

Circoloco is the notorious party concept at DC10 on Ibiza. To celebrate their 10th anniversary, they are releasing no less than three different double-cd's, mixed by all their residents. 'Reeves' is the opening track on the 2nd cd of part 1, mixed by DJ Sossa.

Everyone knows Resident Advisor and their podcasts. For their historic 100th podcast, they succeeded in getting no other than Richie Hawtin.
I was quite thrilled when i saw he used a Curle!

The story behind: Denis Karimani 'Melted' (Curle011)

We never told anyone (and probably nobody ever noticed), but 'Melted' is in fact a sort of live rework of 'Character Melting Pot' (Curle002) that you can listen to here:

A pretty funky, piano driven cut.

When i met Denis for the first time when he was performing in Brussels as Remute, he told me that he was playing it in a totally different version now. Since he wasn't sure if i would even recognise it, he promised to give me a sign during his gig when he was about to start playing it. So i recorded it with my lousy phone. Watch the roof go off:

We both agreed afterwards that we had to release this "version", and baptised it 'Melted' - probably also because of the terrible heat during the party that night.

Efdemin 'Acid Bells' (Curle003) in the 2007 year charts

It had already appeared in their chart when it came out, but now 'Acid Bells' has been elected 11th best track of 2007 by Groove Magazine. It's also in the top 20 in Raveline, another big German dance music magazine.
Also Dominik Eulberg, Sascha Funke and DJ Koze have put it in their "best of 2007" charts.

Efdemin 'Acid Bells' (Curle003) on Agoria mix-cd

Agoria became famous with productions like 'La Onzième Marche' and 'Kofea', but he's also a gifted DJ. He got invited to do the new edition in the "At The Controls" series after James Holden, M.A.N.D.Y. and Claude VonStroke.

The Dutch techno and minimal scene is without a doubt one of the most interesting these days and Shinedoe definitely has an important part in that. This is her debut mix-cd, a part of the nice "Fuse Presents" series on Music Man.

Dub Kult 'Cluster Fuck' (Curle004) on Dan Curtin mix-cd

Dan Curtin has been a key person in the scene since his releases on Peacefrog in the mid-nineties. Now he's mostly releasing his stuff on Tuning Spork. They are also bringing out this compilation, and believe it or not, it's Dan's very first mix-cd!

Groove magazine is a very well written magazine about underground electronic music and if you understand some German it's really a must to check it out.

Efdemin 'Acid Bells' (Curle003) on Claudio Coccoluto mix-cd

Claudio Coccoluto is one of Italy's biggest DJ's since the beginning of the nineties already. But looking at the tracklist of his new mix he's definitely keeping an eye on today's evolutions in music. So we're happy to be a part of this project!

Karotte is one of Germany's most popular DJ's. He has his own night at the Cocoon club in Frankfurt and hosts his own radio show on Sunshine Live. That show is called Karotte's Kitchen and now the first mix-compilation with that same name is being released.
Karotte included the 2000 And One remix of 'Strange But Cool' (originally by Denis Karimani on Curle005) in his selection.

'Acid Bells' (Curle003) on Efdemin's debut album

After some well received EP's it's time for Efdemin's debut album on Dial. It's definitely one of the best cd's to be released this year, be sure to check it out!
Next to a bunch of new tracks, he also decided to include 'Acid Bells'. To have the track on vinyl you will have to buy Curle003 though...

Mark August 'Warm' (Curle001) licensed on Innervisions

I'm honnoured to announce that 'Warm' by Mark August has been licensed by the Innervisions label from Germany (Dixon, Âme, Henrik Schwarz...). The track will appear on the first edition in their 'Secret Weapon' series. I couldn't think of a bigger compliment really!
Their release will hit the stores end of February.
